Anyone who has listened to my show for some time may know that I have a thing for Greek and Cypriot Eurovision entries from the 80's and 90's. I no longer do a "Eurovision Song of the Week" but I still sneak a Eurovision entry every know and then on the show. Today I played the Eurovision entry for Cyprus in 1998 - "Genesis", sung by Michalis Hajyanni (also known as Mixalis or Michael Xatzigiannis if you try to Google his name) .

We also spoke about and played a few songs by Peggy Zina.

I played an old Dionyssis Savopoulos favorite song of mine "Hileler" during the show.

I was checking on Youtube, there aren't many Savopoulos videos up yet (I say yet because I hope that soon more will be posted). Here is one of him with Sotiria Bellou. It is followed by another singer doing a very good interpretation of the song Rebetiko, I have to plead ignorance as to who she is, if anyone knows please post a comment and let me know.

We also heard a cover of "Oh Carol" sung by Andreas Mikroutsikos. I looked him up, I didn't know that he had been a game show host in Greece. Have a great week!

Here is the playlist. I talked a little bit about Vicky Leandros. I really like this YouTube video of her performing the song L'enfant au ballon. Sadly we don't seem to have that song in the collection but you can enjoy it here.

I also played something by the 4 Levels of Existence, a listener suggested that I check them out last year and it was good advice.
